Inspector Notes

A 60 day follow up inspection was conducted on August 17, 2022. There were 8 children present, with 3 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Based on observation, hazardous substances, such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place preventing access to children.
Evidence
Clorox wipes were left out in the bathroom the children use, making them accessible to the children.
Plan of Correction: Wipes were removed during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-B
Based on review of two children's records, one did not contain documentation of parental authorization to administer over the counter diaper cream.
Evidence
The record for child #1 did not contain parental authorization to apply over the counter diaper cream that was located in the diapering area.
Plan of Correction: We will have all parents that use any over the counter medication complete the parental authorization form.
