Inspector Notes

A complaint was received in the licensing regarding, ratios, cribs, staffing, and labeling food brought from home. An onsite inspection was conducted today, between 12:30pm and 1:45pm. The inspector conducted interviews, attendance records, staff schedules, and reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, emergency procedures and nutrition. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. The complaint is deemed not valid. Observations not relating to the complaint were observed during the inspection that were determined to be on-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on review of staff records, two staff members did not complete the Virginia Department of Education sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence
Staff #1 and #2 hired 8/2022 have not completed the Virginia required orientation course.
Plan of Correction: Staff will complete the required orientation course.
Standard 8VAC20-780-240-B
Based on review of staff records, two staff have not completed orientation training no later than seven days of the date of assuming job responsibilities.

Based on observation, not all electrical outlets had protective covers.
Evidence
Two electrical outlets in the Infant room did not have protective covers preventing access to children.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. Staff will visually scan the room every morning to ensure all outlets are covered.

Based on observation, infant bottles were not all dated and labeled with the child's name.
Evidence
Bottles in the Infant room were labeled with the child's first name, but no date. Two bottles located in the Infant room were not labeled with child's name or date.
Plan of Correction: All bottles will be labeled with the child's full name and current date.

Based on review of staff records, the center did not have complete records for two staff members.
Evidence
The records for staff #1 and 2, hired 8/2022, did not contain name, address, phone number, emergency contact information, or health information.
