Inspector Notes

An unannounced on-site renewal inspection was conducted on 1/24/2023. There were 48 children, ages 1 months-5 years, and 12 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector observed the following: free choice activities, large motor play outside, and picture's. A total of 2 children?s records and 3 staff records, were reviewed. The inspector discussed the following with staff: out of state backgrounds, and medication. The inspector arrived at 9:30 AM and departed at 11:45 AM.

Based on review of three staff record's the
center failed to ensure that all out of state
background checks were obtained.

Evidence:

Staff # 2 hired on 11/28/2022 and lived outside of the state of Virginia in the past five years in a non NFF state (national fingerprint file). Staff # 2 is required to have a criminal
background prior to starting the position.
Plan of Correction: The administration will obtain the out of state Criminal Background ASAP. In the future all staff that have lived out side of the state of VA in the past 5 years will have all required backgrounds.
