Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 1/13/2025 and completed on 1/14/2025, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 11:11AM and ended at 12:45PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 24 children present and 11 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records on site on 1/13/2025 and 4 staff records electronically 1/14/2025. Medications were reviewed on site 1/13/2025. This inspection included - document review, tour of the facility, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances must be in a locked place that prevents access by children. In Classroom 5, the cleaning solution and sanitizing solution were in an unlocked cabinet. A mop with cleaning solution was also found in the restroom. Both were within reach of children.
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure all hazardous substances are locked using a safe locking method.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. There were 6 children present in Classroom 3, but only 5 were marked present on the attendance record.
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure all children's arrival and departure is marked on the attendance sheet.
