Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today 7/17/2023 from 10:00 am-11:35 am. There were 29 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 8 direct care staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, art, and science activities, reading books, and playing outside. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Based on staff record review, two of five staff did not complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence:

1. Staff #4 (Date of hire 8/01/2022) had not completed the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.

2. Staff #5 (Date of hire 01/03/2023) did not have documentation of completing the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment.

3. The Director stated that Staff #4 is still working on completing the training and Staff #5 has completed the training and will get the certificate.
