Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 8/11/23 and concluded on 8/11/23. There were 14 children present with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 9:15am and concluded at 12:05pm.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observations the facility failed to ensure that cleaning products were stored in a locked place as required.

Evidence:
In the toddler room(14m-3y) the licensing inspector observed several cleaning products stored in an unlocked cabinet above the hand sink in the classroom.
Plan of Correction: The cabinet was locked during the inspection. Staff will be reminded to keep all cleaning or hazardous items locked as required.

Based on review of documentation the facility failed to ensure that emergency evacuation drills were practiced monthly as required.

Evidence:
Documentation and discussion with staff confirmed that no July 2023 emergency escape drill was practiced.
Plan of Correction: Monthly drills will be conducted and documented to ensure future compliance.
