Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:30 pm- 2:00 pm. There were 19 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 4 staff. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, preparing to nap and eating lunch. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was a supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based upon observation, materials were not appropriate in size for the children using it..
Evidence:
In the 2's classroom there were thin connector sticks which could be considered a choking hazard for the children in the classroom.
Plan of Correction: We sealed the sensory table so the children cannot access without a teacher with them. We removed the sticks during the inspection.

Based on observation, food brought from hoe was not labeled as required.
Evidence:
2 Bottles from home were not labeled with the child's name and date in the infant room.
Plan of Correction: Child's name was written during inspection. We always write their names when they arrive in the morning.
