A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed July 30, 2024, from 3:40pm- 5:15m. At the time of entrance, 1 child, 7 months of age, was in care with the provider present. The sample size consisted of 4 children?s records and 2 provider / household member records.

A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law.Violations are identified on the violation notice.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-790-250-D-1
Based on a review of records and documentation, the provider was unable to demonstrate having obtained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care, to include an in-person competency demonstration.
Evidence:
The CPR certification card for provider #1 did not indicate than an in person competency demonstration was conducted.
The provider confirmed that the class was taken on line and that instruction did not include an in-person competency demonstration.
Plan of Correction: The provider was not aware that an in-person competency demonstration was required. She began looking for available in-person classes during the inspection and will schedule her CPR training as soon as possible, but preferably within 30 days, ensuring that it includes in-person competency demonstration.
