Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the (monitoring/renewal) inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in voluntary registration standards were reviewed during this SHSI.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-790-250-D-1
(Repeat Violation) Providers must maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
Provider #1's record contained documentation of current CPR training which was obtained on line and did not include an in-person competency demonstration.
Plan of Correction: The provider will begin searching for upcoming CPR classes and reserve a spot for attendance by the end of the month. CPR certification, to include a hands on component, will be kept current by scheduling training prior to 2 years from the last training.
Standard 8VAC20-790-250-F
Caregivers who work directly with children are required to annually attend at least 16 hours of training, to include the department's health and safety update course.
Provider #1 last attended the department's annual health and safety update course more than 15 months ago.
Provider #1 did not have any documentation of training to meet the required 16 hours required for the previous 12 month period.
Plan of Correction: The provider will complete the annual health and safety update training within 2 weeks and will begin accumulating additional training hours and documenting them for the current 12 month period.
