Inspector Notes

An initial inspection was conducted on August 16, 2022. The inspector measured each room, reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records and five staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation and interview with director, there is not a nonabsorbent designated changing table or countertop for diapering or changing children younger than three years.
Evidence:
1.There is not a changing table or designated counter top in the classroom or bathroom.
2.Director said they did not plan to use changing tables because children would change themselves.
Plan of Correction: We will order a changing pad today and designate a piece of furniture to use in the classroom.
Standard 8VAC20-780-540-E
Based on observation and interview with director, the center does not have a working, battery-operated radio in each building that is used by children.
Evidence:
1. Battery-operated radio is not in nonmedical supplies.
2.Director said they did not have battery-operated radios in the center.
Plan of Correction: I will order radios today and have them by tomorrow.
