Violations

2
Standard 8VAC20-780-430-K
Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure that provision shall be made for an individual place for each child's personal belongings.

Evidence: In the foyer area of the center, on a table there were 19 backpacks stacked on top of one another and on a second table there were 17 coats stacked on top of one another. Center Director confirmed they did not provide an individual place for each child's belongings.
Plan of Correction: Each student will be provided an individual basket to place their items in and will be labeled and placed at an appropriate distance.
Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A
Based on record review and staff interview the center did not maintain a record for each child enrolled which contained all the required information.

Evidence: Center Director confirmed that the record for child #1 did not contain a second emergency contact or the required appropriate legal paperwork when the custodial parent requests the center not to release the child to the other parent.
Plan of Correction: Ensure all files contain two emergency contacts. In the event a child cannot be released to another parent we will request the proper documentation be provided prior to the students start date.
