An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today.
There were 17 children present with two staff. The children were playing with table toys and eating a snack.
Three child records and three staff records were reviewed.

Based on the review of three staff files, the facility failed to ensure that all staff complete a fingerprint background check prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. There is no current fingerprint background check on file for staff #2 who is working today. (hire date 9-21-22)

Based on observation and an interview with staff, the facility failed to ensure that there are two people on duty at all times.
Evidence:
1. Upon arrival at 3:00pm, the licensing inspector observed one staff member present with six children. For the next 20 minutes children continued to arrive. There was a total of 17 children present. The second staff person arrived at 3:35pm.

Based on observation and an interview with the program director, the facility failed to ensure that snacks follow the requirements of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Evidence:
1. The snack today was a flavored drink, cheesy crackers, pretzels, corn chops and cereal bars. There was no item from a second element of required foods.
