Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 9/9/2024. The on-site inspection began at 3:20PM and ended at 4:35PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 24 children present and 2 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records on-site 9/9/2024 and 2 staff records electronically 9/16/2024. This inspection included - document review (i.e. Injury logs, policies and procedures, emergency drill logs, medication administration logs, authorization forms), tour of the facility, and observations.

A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

REPEAT VIOLATION
Within the first 90 days of employment all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Staff #2, employed for 5 months, did not have the required Preservice Training during the inspection on 9/9/2024
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure staff receives preservice training.
Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
REPEAT VIOLATION
All staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in CPR appropriate to the ages of children in care. Staff #1, employed 21 months, did not have the required CPR training. Staff #2, employed 5 months, did not have the required CPR training.
Plan of Correction: Provider will ensure staff receives CPR training within 90 days of employment.
