Inspector Notes
An unannounced investigation was conducted on August 9, 2023, in response to a complaint regarding allegations of a forbidden action. Staff interviews were conducted at the center. The information gathered during this investigation supports the allegation of non compliance with standards or law, a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on interviews, a staff member used a method that is forbidden when disciplining children for behavior.
Evidence:
On July 24, 2023, an ice cream truck stopped at the facility at around snack time. According to staff interviews, after the children from the Preschool classroom had picked the ice cream of their choice, Staff #1 instructed three children in the classroom to give their ice cream back to them because they needed to earn their ice cream. Staff #2 was instructed to not give the ice cream back to them until the end of the day.
Staff #2 indicated that ice cream was withheld from Child #1, #2 and #3, while the other children were allowed to eat it because they had not been following directions during the day.
