Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted beginning at 9:45 a.m. and ended at 12:30 p.m. with the director. There were 70 children in care ranging in age from four months through five years of age under the care and supervision of 13 staff. Infants were observed being held during bottle feeding, having playtime on the floor and sleeping. Toddlers were observed during music and movement, diapering and transition. Two year olds were observed during circle time. Early preschool was observed during free play in 'The Brook'. Preschool was observed during story time. PreK was observed during small group activities that included sensory table, blocks, magna-tiles and hand washing.

Five children's records and seven staff records were reviewed. Emergency drills were reviewed and up to date. Ten medications and authorizations were reviewed. The outdoor play areas were observed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, not all medication was kept in a locked place. Evidence: In the two's classroom, there was a Benadryl and prescription epi pen stored in a plastic zip top bag inside the red emergency bag on a high hook in the classroom. In the PreK classroom, there was a prescription albuterol stored in a plastic zip top bag inside the red emergency bag on a high hook in the classroom.
