Inspector Notes

An investigation was initiated from 12:15 pm - 3:00 pm in response to a complaint received regarding supervision and staff-to-child ratios. Interviews were conducted, documentation, staff, and child records were reviewed. The portion of the complaint regarding staff-to child ratios is determined to be valid. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the portion of the complaint regarding supervision, therefore the supervision portion of the complaint is deemed not valid.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on interviews and review of attendance records it was determined that the staff-to-children ratio of one staff for every four children was not always followed. Evidence: On August 28, 2023 three staff were caring for more than 12 infants from 9:11 am - 9:45 am. At 9:45 am a fourth staff person arrived bringing the classroom back into the appropriate 1:4 staff-to-child ratio.
Plan of Correction: Hire more staff and continue to maintain ratio at all times.
