Inspector Notes

An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on April 8, 2024 from 10:15 am until 11:45 am. There were three children present with one caregiver supervising for a value of 6 points. Children were playing and watching a video at the time of the inspectors? arrival. Children were later observed playing and reciting the alphabet and the days of the week. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The provider provided a plan of correction for each citation at the time of the inspection.

If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-790-430-A-3
Based on a review of the emergency response drills and an interview with the provider (Staff #1), the provider failed to practice lock down drills annually.

Evidence: There was no documentation of lock down drills in 2023 or 2024. In an exit interview on 4/08/24, Staff #1 acknowledged that lock down drills had not been conducted annually.
Plan of Correction: The provider will conduct and document a lock down drill today and begin completing the drills annually.
