Inspector Notes

An initial inspection was initiated on 9/27/2022 and concluded on 9/27/2022. This building recently housed a licensed day care center. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, policies and procedures, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The inspection started at 10:00 am and concluded at 12:45 pm.
There are several standards that cannot be determined due to the center not being fully operational at this time. These areas will be reviewed at the next inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-540-C
Based on observation the center failed to ensure that the first aid kit included all the required items.
Evidence:
1. The first aid kit was missing a second triangular bandage and an antiseptic cleansing solution/pads.
Plan of Correction: The director/owner purchased the required items and will ensure that all items are in the first aid kit at all times.

Based on observation the center failed to ensure that all nonmedical emergency supplies are at the center.
Evidence:
1. The center did not have a working, battery operated radio in the building.
Plan of Correction: The director/owner purchased a battery operated radio for the center.
