Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted 2/21/2024 from 10:05am through 1:15pm. There were 39 children directly supervised by 7 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, outdoor playground area, programming, menus, 4 staff records, 5 children?s records, emergency drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were reportedly no medications on site. Children were observed participating in circle time, reading books, coloring, and participating in a number and color activity. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an adequate supply of age appropriate materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. There was an adequate number of CPR/First Aid, Daily Health Observation, and MAT trained staff on site at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

6Evidence: Staff #1 (Date of Hire: 11/5/2018)'s most recent Virginia Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry search results on file were dated 11/29/2018.
Based on observation, the center did not ensure that areas inside the center were maintained in a clean and safe condition.
Evidence: There was one hole in the drywall in the School Age classroom.
Based on observation, the center did not ensure that hazardous substances, such as cleaning materials, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: In the Threes and Fours classroom, there were two disinfectant sprays stored unlocked in the wooden cabinet by the classroom door.
Based on observation, the center did not ensure electrical outlets have protective covers.
Evidence: In the Threes and Fours classroom there were two uncovered outlets.
Evidence: There was no list of children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions in the Twos classroom.
Evidence: There was not attendance in the Twos classroom and there were 8 children present.
