Inspector Notes
A focused monitoring inspection was initiated on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 and concluded on Friday, February 17, 2023.There were 14 children present, ranging in ages from infancy to four years, with 2_ staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations
5Evidence:
1. In the infant room, there was a bottle of hand sanitizer observed on the diapering area with the labels "keep out of reach" and "warning".
2. In the kitchen area, there was a bottle of odor eliminator spray with the labels "caution" and "keep out of reach of children" on the countertop accessible to children in care.
Evidence:
1. During the inspection on February 14, 2023, Staff#3 was observed by the inspector in the kitchen upon arrival.
2. The observation of the Threes/Fours group, revealed there were 7 children in care engaged in active play activities and Staff#3 was the only staff present for the group during this inspection.
3. Interview with Staff#3 confirmed working alone with Threes/Fours group and not directly supervising the children while in the kitchen.
Evidence:
1. In the Infant room on February 14, 2023, Child#1 was identified as the youngest, age 3 months and there was observation of one staff with six children.
2. Interview with staff confirmed working alone with children in care during the inspection.
Evidence: In the Infant room, there was observation of one crib without label for a specific child. Interview with staff confirmed use of the crib by a child and a label being available for review during the inspection.
Evidence: During the inspection on February 14, 2023, there was observation of two infants placed in infant seat without the protective belt fastened.
