Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with the provider, who was present with two assistants and five children, ranging in age from 13 months to 3 years. The inspection took place from 9:55 am to 10:55 am.

Five children and the newly hired assistant's files were reviewed today. There were no medication for daycare children present today.
The pellet stove was inspected on 8/31/22

Based on a review of recordkeeping and interview, it was determined that an assistant,, staff A, hired 2/15/23 did not have documentation of orientation training. This training and documentation is required by the end of the first week of assuming job responsibilities.
Plan of Correction: I will document the orientation training.
Standard 8VAC20-800-730-D
Based on observation, it was determined that the medication, Epinephrine was stored unlocked on a shelf in the day care area. The medication belonged to a household member.
Plan of Correction: The medication was removed from the daycare area and locked. The medication was inaccessible to the children.
