Inspector Notes
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 03/13/24 from 8:20 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with the provider. There were seven children in care, ranging in age from 12 months to seven -years-old, for a total of 13 points. Children were observed eating breakfast, playing with manipulatives, and watching an educational program. Six child records and one staff record were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The first aid kit, emergency drills, and attendance were also reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Violations
4Evidence: A small toy was observed near a 12-month-old child, the toy was approximately 1 inch in diameter and 1-1/2 inch in length, posing a choke hazard.
Based on documentation review, the provider did not ensure that wood burning fireplaces and associated chimneys were inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed.
Evidence: The most recent fireplace inspection was dated 01/09/23.
Evidence: A litter box with animal feces was observed on the kitchen floor approximately four feet away from where the children were seated and eating breakfast.
Evidence: The last documented annual review for Child #1 was 12/03/22, Child #3 was 11/30/22, Child #4 was 11/14/23, and Child #3 was 11/14/22.
