22.1 EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION

Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted today, December 14, 2023. The inspector was on site from approximately 9:00 am until 11:30 am. The director was present during the inspection. There were 14 children present, ranging in ages from three to four years, with two staff supervising.
Children were observed finishing breakfast and brushing their teeth before heading to circle time where they recited the pledge and sang song in preparation for the Christmas performance. Later children played in centers that consisted of animals, cash register, superhero figures.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Five children?s records were reviewed. Three staff records were reviewed at the administrative office. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of five children?s records, the center did not ensure two child records contained the required information.
Evidence:
1. The record of Child #1 did not contain the addresses for the two required of two designated people to contact in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached.
2. The record of Child #3 did not contain the address for one designated person to contact in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. The record did not contain the name, address, and phone number for a second person to contact in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached.
