Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 07/22/2024 and completed on 07/29/2024. The on-site inspection began at 10:00 AM and ended at 11:30 AM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 3 children present and 1 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 1 staff records on-site. This inspection included: emergency drill logs, tour of the facility (home), interviews, and observations

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 08/07/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that all poisonous materials were stored in areas inaccessible to children.

Evidence:

There was a gallon container of Fabuloso cleaner sitting on the landing of the steps with out a lid. Children use the steps to enter the child care play area when arriving to the home.
Plan of Correction: The cleaner was removed and stored in a place not accessible to the children.
Standard 8VAC20-800-320-B
Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that all electrical outlets had protective covering.

There were four electrical outlets without protective covering in the child care play area.
Plan of Correction: The provider covered all four outlets during the inspection.
Standard 8VAC20-800-50-A
Based on review and interviews, the provider failed to ensure that a written attendance was taken daily.

Evidence:

The licensee stated that she was not taking written attendance of the children in care.
Plan of Correction: The provider will start taking attendance and will make sure that it is completed daily.
