Inspector Notes

An announced initial inspection was conducted today from 9:05am-10:00am. There were no children present during the inspection. The inspector observed manufacture dates for 2 cribs and both were in compliance. Smoke detectors, emergency supplies, and age appropriate materials were observed. The emergency preparedness plan was also reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, the first aid kit did not contain the minimum required components.

Evidence:
1. The first aid kit did not contain a digital thermometer.
Plan of Correction: I have a thermometer and will bring it here to be added to the first aid kit.

Based on record review, the emergency preparedness and response plan did not include all required components.

Evidence:
1. The emergency preparedness and response plan did not include provisions for a responsible person who is 18 years of age or older and is able to arrive at the family day home within 10 minutes for emergency backup care until the children can be picked up by their parents.
Plan of Correction: The Emergency Preparedness Plan was updated to include a designated person to provide back-up care and provided to the department on 08/29/2023

Based on record review, the provider did not update the emergency preparedness plan as needed.
