Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, to determine the provider's compliance with licensing standards. The inspector was on site from 3:00pm to approximately 5:20pm. During the inspection, there were a total of six children in care, totaling 18 points, in the direct care of three caregivers. Upon arrival, the children were observed waking up from rest time, taking bathroom breaks, and during free-play. All areas used for childcare were inspected. The family day home has age and stage appropriate materials and supplies. The caregivers were observed having positive interactions with the children in care. The first aid kit and non-emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. Per the provider, there are no pets in the home, no firearms, transportation is not provided, and medication is not
administered currently. Three caregivers? records and five children's records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Violations
5Evidence: 1) The record of Caregiver #3, employed on 03/02/23, did not contain a central registry finding.
2) During interview, Caregiver #1 confirmed the central registry finding for Caregiver #3 could not be located.
Evidence: 1) The physical examination in the record of Child #1 (23-months-old) was conducted on 03/21/22. The child's first day of attendance was 04/17/23.
The physical examination prior to attendance shall have been conducted within six months prior to attendance for children age 19 months through 24 months.
2) During interview, Caregiver #1 acknowledged there was no other physical examination on file for Child #1.
Evidence: 1) The CPR certification in the record of Caregiver #1 expired on 05/01/23.
2) During interview, Caregiver #1 acknowledged the CPR certification was expired.
Evidence: 1) The first aid certification in the record of Caregiver #1 expired on 05/01/23.
2) During interview, Caregiver #1 acknowledged the first aid certification was expired.
Evidence: 1) On 06/27/23, the inspector tested the hot water tap in the main bathroom sink used by children. The water registered 123.9 degrees F. 2) The inspector tested the hot water tap in the kitchen sink that is also used by children. The water registered 128.3 degrees F.
2) During interview, Caregiver #1 acknowledged the hot water temperature was not maintained within the required range.
