Inspector Notes
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 1/27/23 from 9:20am to 11:10am with the provider and one assistant. There were six children in care, ranging in age from two-years to four-years-old, for a total of 12 points. Children were observed playing with legos, puzzles, and practicing with lacing manipulatives. Six child records, the provider record, an assistant record, two household member records, and two pet records were reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid as well as Medication Administration Training (MAT). The provider plans to operate Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. The provider will care for up to 11 children from four-months to seven-years-old; with no more than five children in care under 30-months-old at any time. The home is equipped with a variety of age-appropriate materials. Meals are provided by the provider. Policies and procedures were reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, weather band radio, fire extinguisher, and smoke detectors were observed. A conditional, six-month license will be recommended. An unannounced follow up inspection will be conducted within 60 days to determine compliance with standards not observed at the initial inspection. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Laura Brindle, at laura.brindle@doe.virginia.gov or 540-905-2062.
