Inspector Notes

An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 8/6/24 from 9:45am to 11:30am in conjunction with a renewal inspection (see that inspection report for details). The two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Three caregiver records were reviewed for documentation of the mandatory Virginia Preservice, Health & Safety Update training, and current certification in First Aid and CPR. There are children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies and their records were reviewed for allergy care plans.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/16/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Based on review of three caregiver records, the provider did not ensure that all caregivers completed the Virginia Preservice Training for child care staff within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy approval. Evidence: The records for Caregiver B and Caregiver C did not contain documentation of completion of the Preservice training. The provider became approved by subsidy on 10/27/23 and both caregivers were employed prior to that date.
