Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 09/12/24 and completed on 09/12/24, as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:40am and ended at 11:10am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were five children present and 2 caregivers; the point total was 10. The inspector reviewed five children?s records and two staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
(REPEAT VIOLATION) Children's records are required to contain written authorization for emergency medical care should an emergency occur, and the parent cannot be located immediately.

The record for Child #4 was missing the written authorization for emergency medical care. The child was present during the inspection and had been in care for seven months.
Plan of Correction: The missing authorization was obtained on 09/16/24.
Standard 8VAC20-800-90-A
The provider shall obtain documentation that the child has been adequately immunized before the child may attend the family day home.

The immunizations in the record of Child #4 were obtained two days after the child?s first day of attendance.
Plan of Correction: Immunizations will be required before children may attend the family day home.
