Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on September 14, 2023 from 10:30 A.M.-11:45 A.M. There were four children present for a total of eight points, with two caregivers supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on a review of caregiver records, the provider failed to ensure that all caregivers shall complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care within 90 days of employment.

Evidence:
1. Caregiver #1's date of employment was 04/02/2023. There was no documentation in the file that the Preservice training had been completed.
2. The provider verified that Caregiver #1 had not completed the training.
Plan of Correction: Caregiver #1 will complete the training and the certificate will be submitted to the Licensing Inspector as evidence it was completed.
