Inspector Notes

An unmandated unannounced inspection was completed from 9:50am until 11:30 by the licensing inspector and the licensing administrator. There were 11 children present with two providers supervising. The point total was 27. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, staff record were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Based on observation, the area of the home was not maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. The door to the child care inside and outside was chipped with wood exposed and peeling paint.
Plan of Correction: The door will be painted.
Standard 8VAC20-800-320-B
Based on observation, there was an electrical outlet without a child-resistant protective cover.
Evidence:
1. There was not protective cover in the outlet by the diapering table.
Plan of Correction: An protective plug will be replaced.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-A
Based on record review, the provider did not have the required information in the children's records.
Evidence:
1. Child record #1 -5 did not contain emergency contact addresses.
Plan of Correction: The parents will provide emergency addresses.
Standard 8VAC20-800-730-D
Based on observation, medication was not locked.
Evidence:
1. The provider had a lock box but the lock was not locked.
Plan of Correction: The provider will make sure the box is kept locked.
