8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety monitoring inspection was conducted on February 6, 2024 to review supplemental health and safety requirements between the hours of approximately 10:20 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. There were 5 children present with the provider for a total of 16 points. The children were observed engaging in free play. Children's files, emergency preparedness procedures, fire drill log were reviewed. The physical plant was inspected. There were 0 medications on site at this time. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, the family day home did not maintain a written hard copy record of attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child as it occurs.

Evidence:
1. Attendance records were reviewed on February 6, 2024 at approximately 10:25 a.m. At that time, the family day home did not have written record of arrivals for the children who were present.
2. Child #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 were present at the time of attendance review.
