Inspector Notes

An announced initial inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-10:30am to review the applicant's child care space, policies, paperwork, and supplies in order to determine if a license to operate a Family Day Home will be granted.

A review of 5 caregiver and household member files, emergency supplies and policies, indoor and outdoor space, and children's model paperwork was reviewed. Areas of non-compliance can be found in the violation notice.

Based on record review and provider statement, wood burning stoves and fireplaces and associated chimneys were not inspected annually by a knowledgeable inspector to verify that the devices are properly installed, maintained, and cleaned as needed.
Evidence:
The wood burning fireplace and chimney had not been inspected within the previous year.

Based on observation, the family day home did not have a landline telephone that does not require electricity.
Evidence:
The landline phone present in the family day home requires electricity to operate.
