Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 5/16/2024 to review supplemental health and safety requirements.
The subsidy requirements were reviewed this date; allergy action plans, staff trainings, nutrition and food services, recordkeeping, hazardous substances, reporting injuries, emergency plans and transportation.
A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on review of training, one staff member did not have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff member A (hire date 2/05/2024) was not current in CPR and had worked for the center more than 90 days.
Plan of Correction: Staff member A was immediately asked to renew
CPR training. It was completed and added to file
on 5/17/24, one day after the inspection.

Based on review of training, one staff member did not have current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff member A (hire date 2/05/2024) was not current in First Aid Training and had worked for the center more than 90 days.
Plan of Correction: Staff member A was immediately asked to renew First Aid training. It was completed and added to file on 5/17/4, one day after the inspection.
