Inspector Notes

An announced annual Unlicensed Subsidy Health and Safety (USHSI) inspection was conducted on 06/04/2024. At the time of entrance, there were no children present. During the inspection, two children arrived for a total of 4 points.

The home, vendor's records, emergency supplies, and policies were reviewed to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information.
Evidence:
1) The following information was missing from children's records:
* Information on allergies - Child #1 through Child #8
* Some of the information required of at least one person designated by the parent to contact in case of an emergency if the parent cannot be reached - Child #1, #2, #3.
* Some of the information required for each custodial parent's place of employment - Child #2, #3, #4, #5
Plan of Correction: I will contact the parents and request the missing information from them.

Based on observation, children's hands were not washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks.
Evidence:
1) Child #1 and Child #2 were served grapes to eat as snack. Their hands were not washed before or after eating.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure to always wash the children's hands before and after eating.

Based on observation, the Vendor did not wash their hands with soap and running water before preparing or serving food or beverages.
Evidence:
1) The Vendor was observed serving grapes to Child #1 and Child #2 for their morning snack. The Vendor did not wash their hands before handling the food.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure to always wash my hands before handling food.
