Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe and operable condition. A box of latex gloves was in an open cabinet in the children?s restroom and children were alone in the bathroom washing their hands. This poses a choking hazard to children in care.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The gloves were placed on a high shelf in the children?s bathroom during the time of the inspection and are no longer accessible to children in care. Moving forward, all boxes of gloves will be kept aware from children and out of reach.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. A bottle of disinfectant attached to a mop was beside the children?s cubbies with a warning label, ?Keep out of Reach of children? and two bottles of disinfectant cleaner were unlocked in a cabinet in classroom #1.
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: The center will keep all cleaning materials locked up and inaccessible to children. The Director will re-train staff on the importance of locking hazardous substances.

Staff and children's records shall be treated confidentially. The Supplemental Page of the inspection summary with children?s names was posted on the parent board. The posted summary states, ?Information found on the Supplemental Information page is confidential and this document is not to be posted in the facility.?
Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: During the time of the inspection the Supplemental Page was taken down from the parent board. Administration will ensure that the children?s names are kept confidential at all times.
