Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 7/30/2024. The on-site inspection began at approximately 9:27 am and ended at 11:40 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 44 children present and 10 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records. This inspection included document review, a tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/6/2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Based on a review of five staff records and interview, the center did not ensure that one staff completed the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course within 90 calendar days of employment as required.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #5 (date of employment: 3/22/2024) contained a dept. sponsored orientation course certificate dated 7/22/2024.
2. Administration acknowledged that the course was not completed within 90 days.
Plan of Correction: Upon hire, completion dates for new staff will be posted on our office calendar.
