Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 11:15am - 12:00noon with the provider. There were four children in care, ranging from two years to four years of age, for a total of eight points. Children were observed cleaning up and playing outside. Three child records and three provider/household member records were reviewed along with the daily attendance, emergency drill log, and required posted information. The provider does not have certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) so cannot administer medications to children in care. If you have further questions about this inspection please contact Donna Liberman at 540-359-5244 or Donna.Liberman@doe.virginia.gov.

Violations

1
Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that potentially poisonous substances such as cleaning supplies were stored in areas inaccessible to children in care. Evidence: their were two cannisters of disinfectant spray and a bottle of ?bleach mix? sitting on the bathroom counter accessible to the children in care.
Plan of Correction: Going forward, cleaning materials will be stored in the locked cabinet beneath the sink.
