Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/04/2025 and completed on 02/04/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:00 am and ended at 12:10 pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 50 children present and 12 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site on 02/04/2025.

The inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-340-F
Children under 10 years of age always shall be within actual sight and sound supervision of staff.

Child 5 was sleeping in a crib in Classroom 1. The crib was in an area of the classroom that was not within the actual sight supervision of the staff.
Plan of Correction: The cribs will be rearranged to ensure sight and sound supervision. Infants placed in cribs will be within sight and sound supervision.
Standard 8VAC20-780-570-E
Prepared infant formula shall be refrigerated, dated, and labeled with the child?s name.

There were 2 bottles of prepared infant formula in Classroom 1 that were not dated.
Plan of Correction: Will be sure to get everything labeled and dated.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.

There were 7 children observed in Classroom 1. The written attendance for Classroom 1 documented 5 children in attendance and the electronic attendance documented 6 children in attendance.
Plan of Correction: Will make sure that the attendance is correct.
