Inspector Notes

An unannounced 60-day monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/12/23 from 8:50am to 9:45am with the provider. One 14-month-old child arrived during the inspection, for a total of four points. The child was observed being dropped off, having free play, eating a snack of a banana and water, washing hands, painting a wreath, washing hands again, and reading books with the provider. One child record was reviewed. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not give medication and understands that they must obtain certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to give medication in the future. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. Based on review of one child record, the provider did not obtain documentation that the child had been adequately immunized according to the requirements of the Code of Virginia and State Board of Health regulations before the child attended the family day home. Evidence: The immunizations on record for Child A, with a start date of 10/10/23, were dated 10/19/23.
