Heat shall be supplied from a heating system approved in accordance with the Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC, 13VAC5-62) except for camps. The heating system shall:1. Be installed to prevent accessibility of children to the system; and 2. Have appropriate barriers to prevent children from being burned, shocked, or injured from heating equipment. In addition, proper supervision shall be available to prevent injury. There was a space heater plugged into the outlet in the yellow room within reach of children.

Hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. In the infant room there were six cans/containers of chemicals under a sink and unlocked place.

Staff shall wash their hands with soap and running water before and after a diaper change. Staff 1 did not wash her hands between changing the diapers of two children in care. Additionally, in the 2 ? 3 year-old room staff nor children washed their hands prior to serving and eating lunch.

requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Additionally, children will be allowed second helpings of food listed in the USDA's child and adult care meal patterns There was no way for staff to know how much protein, grain or fruit was served to children. Furthermore, there was not enough food for all children to be given a second helping of the protein or grain.

A facility or an agency shall operate within the terms of its license. The license states that there shall be no more than 18 children under 2 and half years of age in care at any one time. However, on 11/12/25 there were 19 children in care under the age of 2 and half years old.
Plan of Correction: Inspector received a handout of all students in care on the date of the inspection. There were 17 students in care.
