Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on February 15, 2024, from 10:30am-11:30am. At the time of entrance, ( 3 ) children were in care with ( 2 ) staff members present. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records. Children were observed during play time. No medications this date. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-B
Based on a review of staff records, one staff has not completed orientation training prior to the staff member working alone with children.
Evidence: Staff #1, date of employment 1/10/2024 does not have documentation of staff orientation training. The staff was observed alone with the children this date.
Plan of Correction: The owner will complete the Child Day Care orientation with the staff member today. The Family Day home staff orientation was completed with the staff member.
Standard 8VAC20-780-245-L
Based on a review of staff records, there is not a staff member trained within the last 3 years in Daily Health Observation.
Evidence: Staff #1, date of employment 1/10/2024 does not have Daily health Observation training. Staff #2 had the training on 2/13/2021, but has not updated the training. It was just the 2 staff with 3 children in care this date.
Plan of Correction: Both staff will take the Daily health Observation training and file their certificates in the staff's record.

Evidence: Staff #1, date of employment 1/10/2024 does not have 2 references on file.
