During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. Inspector Notes
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on December 19, 2024 and the inspection concluded on December 19, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 2:50 p.m. and ended at 4:20 p.m. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 24 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 1 staff record on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Standard 8VAC20-780-280-B
Hazardous substances must be in a locked place that prevents access by children. In the two/three year old classroom, cleaners and a sanitizing solution were in an unlocked tall cabinet, out of reach of children.
Plan of Correction: Cleaners will be locked as required.
Standard 8VAC20-780-550-E
The center shall practice shelter in place drills a minimum of twice per year. The center has not conducted a shelter in place drill since opening 12/07/2023.
Plan of Correction: Drills will be conducted as required.

The center shall practice a lockdown drill at least once annually. The center has not conducted a lockdown drill since opening 12/07/2023.

Standard 8VAC20-780-60-A
The facility shall have a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Child 1 has diagnosed food allergies but did not have a written allergy action plan on file.
Plan of Correction: Staff will request the allergy action plan from the parents.
