The required ratio for children 3 years old up to school age eligibility is one staff per 10 children. On 02/20/2026, there was only one staff member supervising 13 children (ages 3 to 4 years) at the onset of rest time. At least 1/2 of the children were not asleep yet.
Plan of Correction: Ratios will not double until at least 1/2 of the children are asleep during rest time.
Standard 8VAC20-780-380-A-2
Centers operating five or more hours per day shall have a designated rest period for at least one hour but no more than two hours. The children were on their mats when the inspector arrived at 11:30 a.m. Staff stated that the children do not get up from rest until 2:00 p.m., which exceeds the two hour limit.
Plan of Correction: The schedule will be followed so that rest time does not exceed 2 hours.

A nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing shall be used. The diaper changing pad in the infant and toddler classroom had a tear, making it no longer nonabsorbent.
Plan of Correction: A new diaper pad was ordered during the inspection.
