Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was initiated on June 7, 2024 at approximately 10:00am and concluded on June 7, 2024 at approximately 11:15am. There were a total of 12 children with 4 staff members present. Children were observed engaging in floor activities and on the playground during outdoor play time. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, the center did not ensure that when food is brought from home,
the food container is clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence:
Food brought from home for two children in the refrigerator were not dated.
Plan of Correction: The center will ensure all food is clearly labeled with the child's name and dated.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
Based on record review and observation, the center did not keep a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs for each group of children.

Evidence:
The attendance record for the Toddler classroom did not have one child who was present signed into the daily attendance record.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. The center will ensure children are signed in as they arrive.
