Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-10:30am with the provider on site. There were 2 children (6 points) present with one provider supervising. Two children's files and were reviewed. The children were observed doing puzzles and in the bouncer seat. Interactions between the children and caregiver were positive. The physical space, attendance records, drill record, menu and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. There were no medications on site. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice.

Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to the department within 5 business days from receipt. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected.

Any plans of correction not received within 5 business days will result in the plans not appearing on the Violation Notice and public website.

Based on observation, the provider did not ensure latex gloves, balloons, and empty plastic bags large enough for a child's head to fit inside were inaccessible to children under five years of age.

Evidence:
A bundle of plastic grocery bags and a box of open kitchen trash bags were in an unlocked sink cabinet and accessible to children under five years of age.
Plan of Correction: The items will be made inaccessible to children.

Based on observation, the current week's menu was not posted or placed in an area accessible to parents.

Evidence:
When the provider was asked for the menu, it was stored away in a filing system rather than accessible to parents or posted. The provider confirmed that the menu was not sent out or available to parents.
