Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 9/18/2024 and completed on the same date, as a part of licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:10 and ended at 12:05. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. CDC: There were 7 children present and 2 classroom staff as well as 2 administrators. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records on site. This inspection included, document review, tour of the facility, interviews and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-130-A
The center shall obtain documentation of immunizations before the child can attend the center.
A child in care for the last two weeks is missing the immunization records.
Plan of Correction: We have asked the parent for the information several times and will do so again.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-F
The medication authorization shall be available to staff during the entire time it is effective.
A child has a emergency medication that does not have a doctors authorization, child has been in care for less than two weeks.
Plan of Correction: We will ask the parent for the authorization from the doctor and have them fill out a ten day authorization so we have that until we get the doctors form.
Standard 8VAC20-780-510-L
Medication shall be kept in a locked place to prevent access by the children.
Emergency medication is kept in plastic bags inside a first aid kit on the counter in the classroom room.
Plan of Correction: We have moved the medication to a locked cabinet and will look in to buying safety sacks for the medication.

Documentation shall be maintained of emergency evacuation
The center did not record drills that they conducted for March, April, May and June of 2024.
Plan of Correction: We did have the drills but did not record them, we will make sure we record them as soon as we do them.

A written care plan for each child diagnosed with a food allergy must be available.
A child who has been in care for 2 weeks , and has a food allergy,is missing an allergy action plan.
Plan of Correction: We will ask the parent for the allergy plan.
