Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on 3/3/26 and completed on the same day, as a part of licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:40 and ended at 12:15. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 15 children present and 4 Teachers and an administrator The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff members records on-site.
This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 22.1-289.035-A
Background checks must be completed every 5 years.

One staff member, staff E, is missing the subsequent criminal records check.
Plan of Correction: We submitted the Virginia State criminal records check in 2025 thinking that was the correct one. We will get the fingerprint check done as soon as possible.
Standard 22.1-289.035-B-4
Staff members must have background checks from any state they have resided in the last 5 years.
One staff, staff B are missing background checks from another state.
Plan of Correction: We will send the request for the out of state records to the state that our staff resided in.
Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
The Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment.

3 new staff, A,B and C are missing the preservice training and has been employed since September and October 2025.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure the staff takes the preservice training.
