8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS

During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on January 22, 2025 with the center director/provider. There were 119 children present with 17 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five business days from today, which will be the close of business on January 30, 2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.

Staff #6 did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of employment. Staff #6 has been employed and working in the classroom for 6 months.

Staff who work directly with children shall, in addition to preservice and orientation
training required in subsections A through D of this section, annually attend at least 16
hours of training and staff development activities, to include the department's health
and safety update course.

The record for staff # 6 and staff # 10, did not contain documentation of the departments health and safety update course for 2024.
