Inspector Notes

A unannounced non-mandated monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/6/2024. 5 children (18pts) were present with 1 caregiver. The physical space, evacuation drills, children's records, attendance records and required posted documents were reviewed. No medications were on site. Children were observed eating lunch, interacting with each other and engaging with the caregiver. Interactions were positive. Age appropriate materials were available throughout. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the program. Based on record review and interview with the provider, written records of children in attendance were not kept for each day. Evidence: The provider showed previous attendance records, from the beginning of April, but said she was confused by what needed to be kept.
Plan of Correction: The correct attendance records will be used, starting right away.
Standard 8VAC20-800-570-A
Based on observation, record review and interview with the provider, the provider did not ensure that 16 points were not exceeded. Evidence: 5 children (18points) were in care with 1 caregiver.
Plan of Correction: The provider stated she will not go over 16 points until an assistant is hired. The process has been started to hire an assistant.
